Welcome to Winfield!
Located in the renowned Okanagan Valley, Winfield enjoys the benefits of long sunny days, which foster the growth of its many apple and peach orchards, cherry trees and other appetizing crops. Situated in Lake Country along the shores of Wood Lake, this community profits from a burgeoning tourism industry. The surrounding lakes abound with recreational activities, including sailing, scuba diving and soaking up the sun on a beach. Due to the miracle of the Okanagan microclimate, the area also celebrates the advantages of nearby ski and snowboard resorts. Winfield nurtures an accomplished art community, which presents the annual ArtWalk each fall. The event promotes local artists with aptitudes ranging from singing to painting to carving and beyond. Positioned to the west is Okanagan Lake, which is the rumoured home of the infamous lake-monster Ogopogo. Throughout the years many have claimed to see a large tail slide beneath the waves or a flipper slap the face of the water, each sighting adding to speculations that Ogopogo dwells on the bottom of this deep lake. Rewards for photographs of Ogopogo have led people to spend many hours scouring the shores, waiting for the mysterious creature to appear.Hotels & Motels
